Like fuel costs, the price of fast-ferry trips on between Finland and Estonia will also grow, writes the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.
Many shipping companies have started to take additional taxes from customers
to cover expenses. Silja Line has increased the price of a return ticket by EUR
8, Tallink and Nordic Jet Line by EUR 10.
In the first part of the year, there were 5 percent less passengers on
Helsinki-Tallinn than during the same period in 2005. And the number of fast
ferries on the route has fallen.
