New Saaremaa-Turku route not yet certain
22/05/2006 15:45

Estonia's Saaremaa Shipping Company claims that Finnish newspapers’ statements about the opening of a shipping line between Saaremaa and Turku are overstated.

Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat wrote that the SSC subsidiary Narva Line, which operates the Kotka-Sillamae route, is planning to open line between Saaremaa and Turku as well.

SSC’s executive director, Tonis Rihvk, said that the issue of a Saaremaa-Turku route has been discussed, but it is not yet certain. Bringing another ship to the Sillamae-Kotka route is a much more serious plan, Rihvk said.
