Saaremaa-Ventspils shipping route, operated by Saaremaa Shipping Company’s daughter company SSC Ferries, begins new servicing season from May 1 to September.

The company is expecting to break the passenger number record in the new season.

Saaremaa-Ventspils route has achieved increasing popularity amongst tourists from Estonia and other countries. In addition to brief visitations to Latvia, the route is often used as a one way journey to diversify trips to Latvia or longer European trips. Also more and more travel agents add Ventspils to the travel itineraries through Latvia.
Eight departures per week are scheduled at the beginning of the season; starting from June 18 the schedule features ten departures per week until the end of the season. Also, short day cruises are organized in Ventspils.

Among other travel options, the schedule offers comfortable weekend-stay in Saaremaa, departing Friday evenings from Ventspils and returning Sunday evenings. Starting from June 18, one-day trips from Ventspils can be taken on Tuesdays, with six hours in Saaremaa. From Saaremaa to Ventspils, in addition to longer trips the schedule enables one-day cruises on Saturdays, allowing six hours in Ventspils. Two-day trips departing from Mõntu port on Friday morning and returning on Saturday evening are also an available option. From Ventspils, it is also easy to travel on to other countries.

The most active month was August, when also the number of Latvian and Lithuanian tourists increased the most.

Ventspils is a favourite among holidaymakers, being a family and child friendly town and offering various leisure opportunities with its colourful children’s parks, original open waterpark, beautiful sand beach, open air museum and other interesting attractions. Also completions have been made to the town’s new popular recreation ground, where in winter operates a ski slope, in the summer an adventure park and other extreme attractions.

In addition to the ferry service, the company offers other tourism services, including accommodation and excursions. Company is co-operating with the best accommodation establishments and travel agents, which allows us to offer the client the comfort of organizing the whole trip through our agencies.
